I met April back in 2018 when I began working in the Emergency Center as an RN. She was sweet, quiet, and hard-working. I don’t think I ever heard her complain (and trust me, that job made it easy to complain). I learned that she had ten kids and thought “how in the world does she work full time and keep up with ten children?” Some older and biological and some adopted, April has so much love for all of them. Then, she went through a divorce. A yucky one. I stood by as she got through that challenging time, then supported her as she jumped back into dating. Her standards were high, and date after date, no one made the cut! Until one day, someone did make the cut. And then he became more and more of a dream come true for April. Ralph was her match and they both knew it. Ralph proposed after April and I had kind of lost touch after I left the EC. She reached out to me about wedding photography packages, and I was thrilled when they decided to hire me. We worked together for engagement photos at Ralph’s family ranch, then again in Lubbock. We powered through a freezing and windy bridal session with my mom following her around with a blanket to keep her warm between settings. I enjoyed their rehearsal dinner with them and took that opportunity to surprise her with her entire bridal session gallery in person. It was one of my favorite moments as a photographer!
April and I have become good friends, and Ralph and my husband are becoming friends too! We love the connection we can make with our couples, and we are always so grateful for the great trust they give us to capture and honor one of the most important days of their lives.

My husband and I were so happy with Kensey. She is very professional, yet personable and fun! She’s invested in her couples and does everything she can to meet every need.
